ITU Radiocommunication Sector

ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) is one of the three sectors of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and is responsible for Radio communications.

History

The Comite consultatif international pour / Consultative Committee on International Radio / International Radio Consultative Committee (CCIR) was founded in 1927. It was merged with several other organizations in 1932 to form the International Telecommunication Union.

In 1992 ITU plenipotentiary conference, the CCIR became the ITU-R.
